Chapter 37: Where Can You Buy Blood Bags?

“You can roughly feel the outline of the knight’s creed, the one that your heart adheres to, correct?” A knight must never forget the person they wield their sword for.”

For some reason, Ji Bai’s mind was continuously revolving around these words, it was something his teacher told him during his apprenticeship. His heart had been unsettled for a long time.

“Mr Ji Bai~?”

“…Hmm?” Ji Bai realized that someone was calling out to him. After he snapped out of his daze, he averted his eyes towards the person in front of him. She was incessantly waving her tail and had a strange expression on her face.

“Is Ke’er too noisy? Is Ke’er causing Mr. Ji Bai to be annoyed with her?” Ke’er, who was currently sitting down in a duck-like posture, tilted her head.

“No, Ke’er is very obedient. She isn’t noisy in the least.” After looking at the small, exquisite and cute creature in front of him, Ji Bai immediately felt his spirits brighten up a bit.

“Then, could it be that Mr. Ji Bai is allergic to cats or something(>﹏<)…?”

“No, no, no. How could that be possible? I just have some doubts about some things, that’s all.” Ji Bai felt somewhat amused as he stroked Ke’er’s fluffy hair. When he tugged at Ke’er’s adorable cat ears, the furry sensation made Ji Bai feel extremely comfortable, it was to the point that he was somewhat reluctant to part with it.

“Nyaahu~” Ke’er comfortably rubbed against his hand, following which, she asked in a worrying tone. “Mr. Ji Bai, are you fondling a cat right now?~”

Under Ke’er’s astonishing words, Ji Bai felt his brain turn somewhat sluggish, the hand that was stroking her fur slightly trembled.

“???”

“Uuu, that won’t do~ That sort of thing will at l—at the very least, have to wait until later… Otherwise~…Nyaahu! My brain, my brain!”

Ji Bai was expressionless as he flicked his finger directly in the middle of Ke’er’s forehead.

“You little brat, who told you about this stuff??” Ji Bai’s expression immediately darkened as he looked at Ke’er, the latter was crying while covering her forehead. He had a nagging feeling that the skills this kitten had acquired were beginning to stray onto the wrong path.

“Uhuhu~ I-It was brother Lin Tuo that told me this. He even told me that I should immediately inform him or the other teachers of the Chivalric Order if you wanted to eat me up~” Ke’er was extremely aggrieved as she replied with a pout on her face.

‘That damnable pervert that refuses to change his ways… He really is indeed a lolicon! How dare he instills such filthy thoughts into such a small and incomparably pure catgirl! In the future, I need to implement strict precautions and prevent him from approaching Ke’er.’

As he silently unleashed a torrent of abuse at Lin Tuo in his heart, he put on an extremely solemn expression, before speaking to Ke’er in a righteous manner. “Ke’er, you need to remember this in the future: Lin Tuo is a lolicon that’s up to no good. You need to refrain from getting in contact with him, as well as people that are similar to him in the future.”

“Eh? But Big brother Lin Tuo seems like a good person… Nya~” Ke’er tilted her head.

“He’s just pretending! These types of people are very crafty and they’ll use whatever means necessary to make you have a better impression of them. It’s best to break off all ties when you’re in contact with these kinds of people!”

“Ohoh… I got it~”

‘See the clattering of metal hooves, making their marks all over1…’ Just when Ji Bai was about to slander Lin Tuo once more, a series of loud noises resounded in his pocket.

“Hello? Is this Lan Yi?” Ji Bai unhurriedly exhaled a mouthful of air, and picked up the call. Meanwhile, Ke’er decided to timely maintain her silence.

“Hey, did you find your dormitory yet?” Lan Yi’s expressionless voice reverberated through the other end of the call. Because of her tone, Ji Bai could almost imagine her expressionless and pretty face staring fixedly at himself.

“I already found it, but… it’s not that I’m being fussy or anything. While the dormitory is indeed big, don’t you think that the interior is too simple and crude?” Ji Bai shot a glance at the empty room around him; Other than the sofa, the entire room was devoid of anything. Even simple facilities like the bed were in a defective state. It didn’t resemble a place that someone wanted to live in at the least.

“In regards to that issue, the logistics department will come back and handle it within a few days. You should just make do with it for now… Oh, that’s right, there are still a few days before school starts. If you’re bored, you can walk around and familiarize yourself with the campus. Of course… My honorable knight can also choose to walk around on the streets if he wishes to. Who knows, maybe you will catch the fancy of some young succubus lady while you’re at it.

“Nyaa~?” As her ears trembled, Ke’er had a somewhat complex emotion in her heart, she couldn’t help but pursed her lips.

“Don’t make fun of me… Ah, that’s right, I want to ask you something. Is there a hospital near this school?”

“Hospital? Why? Are you unwell? This school is equipped with an infirmary facility. The logo is very eye-catching so it’s very easy to find it.”

“Really? Then…” Ji Bai wanted to say something but ultimately hesitated to continue.

“What’s wrong? If there’s anything on your mind, just say it, don’t hum and haw like a lady.”  Lan Yi quietly rebutted him.

“Umm… I… I just wanted to ask if there are any blood bags inside…”

“Blood bags?” Lan Yi’s eyes were narrowed into a fine line.

In the eyes of the Chivalric Order of the Moon, items such as blood bags weren’t just classified as medical supplies. They were also given in order to sustain the physiological needs of some of the members and were even sold as food. This was the main staple of the vampiric race.

“I’ve been recently suffering quite a bit of anemia.” After seeing how the other party on the phone call was silent for a long time, Ji Bai hastily explained.

“…We do have them. If you wish to purchase them, you can go to the backup vendor in the cafeteria.” Even though Ji Bai’s words had given her a peculiar feeling, Lan Yi didn’t continue to interrogate him.

“Oh. Alright, I understand.” Ji Bai quickly hung up the call.

…………

“Who was on the line?” On the other end of the phone, a series of light and melodious laughter that was as refreshing as spring water had ensued behind Lan Yi who had just hung up the call.

“It was a new student.” As she turned her body over, Lan Yi’s eyes directly came into contact with a girl, she was sitting above a desk with both hands clasped together. Her petite body was surprisingly curvaceous underneath the spotlessly snow-white long dress. An adorable pair of cat-eared earphones were perched on top of her petite head, all the while her spotless, snow-white silvery hair draped down her head like a thousand rivers. Her hair was like a fluffy tail when handled as a whole.

This loli was unbridledly sitting at the executive chair, while her cherry-like lips were sucking up a bottle of coke through a straw.

“Oh? The new student? Is that the one that defeated Lin’er?” In an instant, a flash of interest began to spring onto the girl’s extremely bored expression.

“Chivalry leader… You’re already getting on in the years, can’t you be a bit more dignified? A vampire is actually drinking coke…” Lan Yi slightly knitted her eyebrows.

“Ara~ Ara~ This matter is of little significance. That’s right, I recall you telling me that he was previously a knight, right?” The small silver-haired girl jumped down from the chair while carrying a bottle of coke.

“Yes… However, he asked me quite a strange question just a while ago.”

“Oh? What sort of question is it?~ Jiiii…” Curiosity filled the eyes of the girl while she was sipping her coke.

“He asked me whether there were any places that had blood bags for sale.”

“Blood bags~? Oh my~ What a coincidence, I want to know too~ This is truly an interesting new student~” The girl narrowed her eyes and licked the leftover coke that was on the corner of her mouth.
