Chapter 35: Are You Two Trying To Demolish The Place?

“Mister Ji Bai~” A puerile and adorable mewing voice softly arrived from the corner. Ke’er’s fearful gaze had been fluttering between the two people that were confronting each other. Fear lingered in her heart when she saw the raucous and otherworldly battle waged by the two God-like beings in front of her.

“Hmm? Are you alright? This parasite didn’t do anything strange to you, right?” Just when Ji Bai wanted to stretch his hands to stroke Ke’er’s small head, a ruthless gaze that would make anyone tremble incessantly landed on him. It was like the gaze of a hissing viper that was currently accumulating its strength, almost as if it was waiting for the right time to strike.

“Bandit. laying your hands on a child isn’t very brave.” Even though she tried her best to repress her anger, the always-indifferent tone had now carried traces of fury and killing intent.

“Hah? You said that I laid my hands on her? Haha! This is truly the case of the thief crying thief!” Ji Bai jokingly pointed at himself. As for Ke’er in the corner, she struggled to comprehend the exact meaning behind the big sister’s words.

“If I really wanted to lay my hands on her, you would probably… Haha! That’s right. I’m trying to lay my hands on her! So what? What do you plan to do, Miss Parasite?” Ji Bai changed the topic of the conversation as he said this in a ruminative tone. He was greatly amused while he locked eyes with the girl, the latter had a gaze that was as cold as the icy plain.

“Nyaa? Mister Ji Bai, so you’re saying… Uuu? Nyaa~” Ji Bai was expressionless as he casually threw a wool ball over. Ke’er’s ears stood erect as her amber-colored pupils had now narrowed into a golden thread—Her expression resembled a neighboring cat that had encountered a small fish.

As she heard the ridicule-filled words that the man said, the gaze of the sliver-haired girl turned even colder. The long whip, which was seemingly forged with coagulated fresh blood, appeared in her hands.

“Oh-hoh?! This tool is actually planning to do something to the kitten?! That’s definitely something that couldn’t be ignored!”

“He dares lay his hands on such a cute cat-loli? Your granddaddy is gonna have him taste this iron knight fist of mine!”

“Are you crazy? The kitten is still in his hands! What happens if you make a move and this guy turns desperate?”

When Ji Bai uttered those words, he had infuriated not just the vampire girl in front of him; The students, instructors, and teachers around him were infuriated too and aimed their spearheads at him. In an instant, he had become the public’s enemy.

Previously, they had still believed it was just a formal and ordinary duel, but now, they realized that this tool was just here to wreck the place. Rather than being amazed by how united everyone was, the tool that everyone spoke of, on the other hand, felt a bone-chilling strangeness.

So, what was exactly going on? Had he really fallen way behind with the world to the point that he didn’t know what the trend was now? Is the first reaction of mankind nowadays when they hear that demons were mingling in their society was to pick up a weapon and fight together with them? Are they really planning to hurt their teammates in order to protect their adversaries?

‘Is it possible that this group of citizens had been brainwashed by vampires? …Indeed, there are definitely some problems with the Chivalric Order of the Moon. If it’s truly necessary, I would have to wipe this place off the world.’

“You’re not leaving.” With her hand holding onto the blood-red whip, the expressionless silver-haired girl continued to stare at Ji Bai. If looks could kill, her gaze would have bored into Ji Bai and turned him into a sieve.

“Oh? That would have to depend on whether you have the ability to do so or not.” Ji Bai gave her a provocative smile.

When he saw that the sliver-haired vampire who had really wanted to hit him was hesitating in doing so, Ji Bai felt a series of happiness. He felt that the stress of the bullying he suffered throughout this year had been largely alleviated at this moment.

“Relax, I’m not as shameless as you, the king of parasites. When I mean 1 vs 1, I really mean it. I will definitely not lay my hands on her.” Ji Bai had already placed himself as the enemy of the public. It was even to the extent that he had already completely assimilated himself into the role.

“Before we fight, tell me your name. My sword doesn’t reap the life of a nameless person.” Ji Bai’s grin revealed a trace of killing intent.

While his personality and habits had probably become drastically different throughout this one year, the only thing that hadn’t changed was his knight’s heart as well as his hatred for vampires.

“Lasombra Lin.” The eyebrows of the silver-haired girl somewhat relaxed as she announced her name in a cold voice. ‘It’s indeed an unpleasant family name.’ Ji Bai thought.

“Ji Bai, a retired knight.” Ji Bai pressed his sword against his shoulder blade and casually performed a knight salute.

“…A knight…” The silver-haired girl muttered. Her eyes had seemingly fired up.

The scene was currently like a barrel filled with gunpowder, it would inevitably ignite as long as a spark was present. Just as the two were gathering energy to strike, a rage-filled roar boomed out that shocked everyone present.

“Are the two of you trying to tear this place down? You’re selfishly fighting your own grudges and even utilizing your trump cards! What do you treat this place as?”

This brain shocking roar was like the bellows of a beast who had laid dormant for a long time. It uncontrollably made people think of the ‘Lion Roar technique1’ that went extinct in the pugilistic world. ‘Dang! Did that shout damage my mind?’

Even with Ji Bai’s strong mental strength, he too couldn’t withstand this sudden sound wave’s attack whose frequencies had already reached that of the infrasonic wave and hurriedly covered his ears.

“Ji Bai! You brat! It’s your first day of reporting here, and you’re already stirring up trouble for your grand-nanny, me?” A slender and tall woman walked down from the top of the stairs. Without saying a second word, she went up and grabbed Ji Bai’s collar.

“Lan- Lan Yi?” Ji Bai was momentarily frightened by the woman’s shocking actions. However, it wasn’t just him; The surrounding peanut gallery and Lin, who was currently accumulating energy to strike, all had faces that suggested they had no idea what was going on.

Ke’er: =v=, Nyaa~
