Chapter 33: Let her go!

“Huff, puff~”  An adorable white tail was fluttering back and forth. As the charming and exquisite pair of cat-ears stood erect, a pair of twin tails that were reminiscent of flowing rivers were dancing through the air, as if they were made out of silk.

The start of the school term still hadn’t begun, this meant that the people who were enrolled in the moon knight academy were mostly traveling about or finishing the missions that were entrusted to them. As such, only a tiny number were left staying inside the academy headquarters.

Currently, there was a cat-eared loli wearing a short and adorable maid dress, she was standing in one of the hallways in the dormitory building and had captured the attention of everyone who managed to glance at her, all while her adorable tail swayed to and fro behind her. Due to the maid dress’ design, a portion of her chest was deliberately exposed, this caused an unceasing stream of images to appear in the people’s minds. Her skin was fair and delicate while white alluring silk enveloped her slender and beautiful legs.

This cat-eared girl seemed to be in a good mood. Her adorable cat-ears stood up obediently while a delicate red blush covered her small, satisfied =v= like face.

If one was to combine the charm of a different race with the by-product of human civilization, the ensuing results would likely be the cat-eared girl here. She was dazzling, like the moon on a dark night.

For Ke’er, she still had her utter fear of strangers, normally, it was seemingly impossible for her to expose her body under the fervent stares of so many people. However, the happiness that was rushing in droves into her heart prevailed over her shyness.

After walking to the front counter of the dormitory building, she handed the blue card that Lin Tuo had given to her over to the lady at the counter. “Big sister, please open a room for me~”

“Pfft…” As she saw the naive and innocent cat-girl in front of her, she had clearly heard the harmlessness suffused in her gentle and adorable voice, the front desk lady laughed uncontrollably.

“Alright. Alright. Please wait for a moment my little customer~” After the front desk lady had placed the blue card on the touchpad, she performed a series of operations on it. After doing so, she placed a gold certificate and a silver key in Ke’er hands. She hadn’t forgotten to give Ke’er’s hair a gentle stroke along the way.

“Nyaa~” As she felt the amicable intentions from the woman, Ke’er comfortably rubbed her head against the palm of the front desk lady. She then let out a mewing voice that could move the heart of anyone1 who saw her.

“Well then little kitten, make sure to pay attention while on the road, okay? If you encounter any problems, you can come by and talk to this older sister~” Before Ke’er was about to leave, the front desk lady made sure to instruct her in a gentle manner. She then reluctantly pulled back the hand that was on Ke’er’s supple head, she knew that she couldn’t treat the cat-eared girl in front of her as an ordinary house pet. Just like herself, she was also an intelligent being in this world. As such, actions such as those were unacceptable without her consent.

“Mhm~ Thank you, big sister. I’ll leave now. Nya~”  Ke’er curiously moved the certificate and batch of keys in her small claws around. With a pure, radiant smile, she thanked the front desk lady.

“Hmm~ Hmm~” She hummed a cheerful song of unknown origins, before a thought seemingly appeared in her small head. Following that, an enchanting red blush began to fill her small face. “Mister Ji Bai must be a very good human~”

As someone from the Asiatic cat race, she possessed a naive and kind heart. People from this species usually paid attention to kindness, this was especially for kindness shown to them during their trials and tribulations. In minor cases, they’d repay their benefactors with favors many times that of what they received, while in certain cases, they might even devote their entire life to them. The extent of their actions was something that humans, who had self-proclaimed to ‘place virtue above all else’, would never reach, no matter what they claim themselves to be.

Just when Ke’er was humming a folk song while hopping and jumping her way out of the lounge, a ‘cracking’ sound reverberated. She had perfectly displayed her innate moe ability—Falling down on the flat ground.

“Nyaauuu!” As she failed to restabilize her center of gravity, what she was currently seeing was the rapidly magnifying image of the ground.

‘This is bad, this is bad! Ke’er’s head is about to burst open! Uuhuu! It’s gonna be very painful!’

She subconsciously closed her eyes and covered her head. However, when she bashfully opened her eyes, she saw a tuft of long hair flutter in the air that radiated a sliver ray under the sun’s radiance. As a simple and elegant fragrance wafted by, she realized that she was already in someone else’s arms.

“Nyaa? Nyaa?~” Ke’er tilted her head in a puzzled manner as she was unable to make any sense of the matter.

“Hey. You, are you alright?” A harsh and cold tone that was as melodious as that of a yellow warbler arrived.

What came into Ke’er eyes as she raised her head was a pair of emotionless scarlet pupils that faintly emitted a bone-chilling aura. A tuft of long, silver-gray hair hung loosely down her shoulders while a portion of the hair on the side was tied into a ponytail.

Ke’er was momentarily shocked.

The cold, teenage woman that was hugging her was very pretty, it was even to the extent of it being unrealistic. This was the assessment made by Ke’er’s limited vocabulary in her heart.

“Say something.” As she saw the immobile cat-eared girl in her arms, the teenage woman slightly knitted her eyebrows.

‘Could she have probably hit herself as she fell or something?’ The teenage girl was puzzled as she thought this.

However, the meaning behind her expression had turned into something bad in Ke’er eyes. To Ke’er, what was shown in the girl’s scarlet pupil eyes was seemingly an expression of irritation, it carried a somewhat horrifying light.

‘C-Crap! Is this big sister angry that my body is trembling?Uhu~ Sh-She’s not going to beat me up, right?’

Ke’er was like a startled bunny in the teenage girl’s embrace. She was so afraid that she didn’t dare to move in the slightest…

……….

On the other end, Ji Bai had silently sent Lin Tuo off with his eyes as the latter walked away into the distance. He then went to the dormitory building to look for Ke’er.

It was as if the god of destiny had played a joke on him. He happened to come across an embarrassing scene just when he opened the door.

His vision turned slightly sluggish for a moment, he instantly focused his eyes on the silver-haired teenage girl that was holding Ke’er’s body in her arms.

The girl had scarlet-red pupils along with her slight silver hair and white skin. Also… she also had that extremely well-hidden, and yet incomparably familiar nauseating odor…

‘A va-m-pire! What’s more, she was someone with a rich bloodline, she was probably a royal family member!’

What’s more, the scene of the horrified Ke’er captured in the girl’s embrace overlapped with the endless pain that the vampire queen inflicted on him. For a moment, it seemed that the air around Ji Bai had somehow solidified.

Like the core of a dead silent volcano instantly being set aflame, his radiant knight personality that had been in seclusion for a year had now completely burst forth.

“Let go of her and scram you disgusting maggot!”
