Chapter 63: Above the Stars
After a long time, following the sounds of a car engine gradually getting louder, Lin Tuo finally made his way up the city wall. Two delicate cat girls were wedged between his sides, making him look like the spitting image of a pen holder.
“Is everyone here? …Mhm. Except for our lil’ friend Ji Bai, who is injured and missing, everyone from the First Tomato Class is present.” As his eyes swept past the few people on the scene, Lin Tuo didn’t inquire why Bai Ji had appeared in this area and just went straight to the point.
“Is Mr. Ji Bai really okay? Mr. Lin Tuo, is it really okay for us to just abandon him like that?” Ke’er was rather unhappy with how Lin Tuo handled the situation. Her mouth had pouted to the point one could hang an iron hook on it.
“Young sister Ke’er, we have almost turned the place upside down in our efforts to find him, but there’s no trace of him. It’s clear that brat, Ji Bai, had run away long before we noticed. That guy is someone who has a story behind him; he has always been very secretive with his actions.” Lin Tuo said very helplessly in front of Ke’er’s doubts.
“That’s right, you just need to relax. That loser of a perverted uncle still hasn’t lost his virginity yet, so their vitality is almost as resilient as cockroaches. He won’t easily die off like that.” Lil’ Sha pouted her mouth.
Surprisingly, the two cats were getting along very well with each other. However, the words Lil’ Sha used to console Ke’er caused the corners of Bai Ji’s mouth, who was present at the scene, to twitch.
“Is the situation under control, teacher?” Lin stood up and shot a glance at the remaining troll foot soldiers below the city wall.
“No. So far, the knight’s association hasn’t sent a single soldier to reinforce the frontlines… If you count on them, you can forget about winning anything at all1. At the very least, all of the combatants that our branch is able to dispatch has already entered the battlefield… God knows how many tenths of personnel we’re going to lose after this battle,” Lin Tuo’s tone turned heavy as his eyes swept past everyone on the scene.
Bai Ji silently closed her eyes as she sat on her knees. Upon hearing his words, she opened her eyes a little bit and sized up Lin Tuo through the seams.
As a chivalric order that contained various demon groups, they were able to abandon their heads and spill their warm blood to ensure the existence of the human cities, while humanity’s chivalric order had done nothing but calmly spectate from the side. This made her subtly feel as if both sides had gotten their roles mixed up.
“Well then, venerable Miss vampire?” After he briefly gave a rough explanation of the current situation, Lin Tuo changed the topic to Bai Ji, whose eyelids had slightly drooped down.
“What’s the matter?”
“Do pardon my presumptuousness. However, don’t you think our goals seem to align with one another?” Lin Tuo had a smile on his face as he approached Bai Ji.
“Don’t approach me for the time being… So what if that’s the case?”
“As the saying goes, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Perhaps, we can cooperate? You wish to eliminate trolls and we wish to protect the city. Isn’t that a win-win situation?” Hearing what she said, Lin Tuo stopped nearing her. He was now more than five meters away from Bai Ji.
“No.” Bai Ji shook her head like a rattle-drum.
“Eh? Why?”
“I’m hungry.” Bai Ji pouted her small mouth. It seemed that she had found an exit to vent all of the grudges that she had secretly harbored.
“Umm…” Lin Tuo looked at Huo Lei and Pian Zi, and then at the two cats at the side.
“Did any of you bring some small biscuits along?”
“Biscuits your head! Do you think of me as a kitten? How about I eat the rice in your house instead! Stupid!2” If she wasn’t currently starving and had no strength left in her body, Bai Ji would have definitely responded by blowing off that dog head of Lin Tuo’s with a jump. ‘This c*nt is definitely doing it on purpose.’
“Hehe… I’m sorry. It only came to mind because your stature is almost the same as them.” Lin Tuo inadvertently cast his gaze towards Ke’er and Lil’ Sha. Afterwards, his eyes subconsciously swayed between Bai Ji and Ke’er’s chest.
“Uncle~ Do you want to experience how it feels like when your face becomes a pancake?” Bai Ji gave a sweet smile as she raised her small fist.
“What are you doing?” Lin Tuo vigilantly moved two steps behind and subconsciously covered the bridge of his nose with his hands.
“Your highness, are you hungry? …If you don’t mind eating in, Lin can offer you some food.” Lin knelt down as respect and seriousness filled her eyes.
“Eating in? What do you mean?” Bai Ji tilted her head.
Without saying another word, Lin undressed on the spot. As the straps tying onto the dress loosened and dropped away one by one, the young and snow-white skin of her neck was revealed at an instant.
“Ehhhh! What are you doing!? I didn’t think you’d be that big of a pervert! This is a public place with a lot of people you know! Are you really that shameless!? H-Hurry up and get dressed!” A redness filled with shyness and excitement instantly spread throughout Ji Bai’s cheeks. As she covered her eyes with her hands, she was furiously denouncing Lin, who was still preparing to take off more of her clothes.
“You can suck my…”
“There’s no way that will happen! I don’t want to do such things…”
“You don’t like it?…” A trace of disappointment slipped past Lin’s eyes. She closed the collars that had sprang open and tied the straps up.
“Whee Whee…” Pretending to be oblivious, Huo Lei whistled as he turned his back behind.
Pian Zi was crossing his legs and bending his knees. It was unclear what he was chanting.
Lil’ Sha was covering Ke’er eyes, yet was looking curiously with a red face.
“Cough. Cough… Sorry to bother the two of you. But shouldn’t we talk about proper business now?” Lin Tuo feigned a dry cough.
“…Earlier, you said that the chivalric order that was garrisoned in the border town hasn’t dispatched a single soldier, right?” Realizing the severity of the situation, Bai Ji leaned on Goutermera for support as she shakily stood up.
“At the least, it’s what it is presently.”
“Which chivalric order is garrisoned there?”
“The Order of the Radiant Knight,” Lin Tuo replied indifferently.
“Psh…” Bai Ji punched the city wall helplessly.
“As the situation happened suddenly, all of our knights had rushed to the East and West City Gate, leading to a shortage of manpower. If we’re to exclude the official appointed squads, the only people that are in charge of the South City Gate are only us.” Lin Tuo shot a glance at the dismembered corpses alongside the twisted, deformed armors laying all around the ground.
“What about the North City Gate then?”
“Oh, you don’t have to worry about it. There will definitely be someone there that would save the day, don’t you think so?” Lin Tuo revealed a meaningful smile.
…………
The North City Gate.
“Clank!” The vigorous assault of the trolls eliminated all of the armed forces except those hiding within the city walls. As the thick city walls were scattered and smashed, the flock of troll foot soldiers began to enter in succession like a swarm of bees. Like Rakshasas coming from hell, each and every one of them was armed to the teeth while their crimson eyes radiated with killing intent.
“Kill! Charge to the city center in one go and leave no one behind!” The excited and furious roars of their commander traveled through the clamorous wind and entered the ears of every troll.
“…” A dark mass of steel suddenly barred the invader’s path.
Equipped with lacquered plate armor, the pitch-black knights that were armed to the teeth had already been waiting at this spot for a long time. As their silver swords left their scabbards, they pressed down their faceguard and icily looked at the invading trolls.
The black plate armors had seemingly fused into one with the pitch-black night, seamlessly forming a steel wall.
With countless stars above.
The infamous and extremely notorious dark knights were out in force.

- This is actually a line from the show “Flashing Show”, a WW2 show. The original line is more of “You can forget about eating any meals if you fight a war based on the hints (the enemies give you). But I change it accordingly.
- The “How about I eat the rice” line is meant to be offensive, but I realized that adding just that, doesn’t really emphasize the essence, so I added a stupid there instead.
